Stock commissions are not just a matter of "which brokerage firm you choose." Even if you trade the same amount at the same brokerage, costs can vary by tens of times depending on the order method and where the account was opened.
This app does not start by showing ranking tables. It first asks about your trading volume, calculates how much you spend on commissions annually, and then breaks down the source of that money into three categories to show you.
■ Diagnosis completed with just 5 inputs
Brokerage Firm · Order Method · Account Location · Order Amount per Transaction · Monthly Trading Frequency
The results will then appear like this:
· How much in commissions will you pay in a year at this rate
· How much you can save by doing it cheapest, and how much money you can save
· How many times more you are currently paying than the lowest rate
■ Breaks down and shows where the money is leaking
· How much you can save by just switching brokerage firms
· How much you can save by just changing the order method
· How much you can save by just changing the account type
You can see at a glance, via bars, what you need to adjust first to make the biggest difference.
■ Two pitfalls visible only by scrutinizing public disclosures
First is the order method. When placing an order for 1 million won, some brokerage firms charge 100 won via their app, but 4,980 won if you visit a branch. That is a 49.8-fold difference. There are also many places where phone orders cost more than 10 times the app price.
Second, the location where the account was created matters. At Korea Investment & Securities, placing an order via the app using an account created at the brokerage firm costs 3,271 won, whereas using a linked account created at a bank costs 141 won. It is the same brokerage, the same app, and the same amount, yet the price differs by 23 times. A significant number of the 33 brokerage firms are like this.
■ A Counter Accumulating Leaked Fees
If you register your transactions, the fees paid from that day onward continue to accumulate. You can also view this via a home screen widget. Once a month, we will notify you of how much was spent this month.
■ Overall Rankings by Condition
You can compare 33 brokerage firms by selecting transaction amount ranges (100,000 KRW to 100 million KRW) × order method × account type. Your brokerage firm is displayed separately in the ranking table.
■ Data Source
This data is based on brokerage commission disclosures from the Korea Financial Investment Association's Electronic Disclosure Service.
■ Important Notes
· Some securities firms have outdated disclosure dates. Non-face-to-face account opening events, lifetime free benefits, and event rates are not reflected in the disclosures, so the actual burden may be lower than the displayed amount. Please be sure to verify with the relevant securities firm before trading.
· Related institutional fees (Korea Exchange and Korea Securities Depository fees) and securities transaction tax are separate and are not included in this app's calculations.
· The displayed amount is a reference calculation converted using the rates of the disclosure range.
· This app is a tool for viewing disclosure information and does not sell or broker financial products or solicit investments.
· It saves only the information you directly enter on your device without requiring account linking or login.
